A tent gives you shade, rain protection and a defined space for dinner and dancing. Here is what size to plan for a seated wedding dinner, using our 2026 prices:

These numbers assume about 10 to 12 square feet per seated guest. Add more room if you want a dance floor, a buffet line, a DJ or a head table inside the tent. Wedding Chair and Table Rentals
Seating shapes how the whole evening feels, from guest comfort to how photos look and how easily people move around.
Most weddings use a mix of:
- round tables at $15 each for guest dining
- six-foot rectangular tables at $10 each for the head table, buffet, gifts and cake
- folding chairs at $2 each for the ceremony and dinner
Many couples use round tables for guests and rectangular tables for everything else. Each six-foot table seats 6 comfortably, or 8 with one guest at each end. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to rent a wedding tent in Toronto?
Our frame tents range from $150 for a 10×20 up to $500 for a 20×40. A 20×30 tent for about 60 seated guests is $350, and a 20×40 plus 20×20 for about 100 guests is $750. Tables, chairs, lighting and delivery are added to your quote.
What size tent do I need for 50, 80 or 100 wedding guests?
For 50 seated guests, a 20×30 works well. For 80 guests, go with a 20×40. For about 100 guests, most couples pair a 20×40 with a 20×20. Add extra space if you want a dance floor or buffet inside the tent.
Do I need a permit for a wedding tent?
Often yes for larger tents. Tents over about 645 square feet in total generally need a building permit under the Ontario Building Code, and weddings in city parks need a park permit. A 20×40 tent is 800 square feet, so check with your city early.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Our frame tents are built for rain, and we anchor them to suit the ground and the forecast. If severe wind is expected, we will talk with you about the safest plan before setup.
How far ahead should we book wedding rentals?
For summer weekends, book 4 to 6 weeks ahead if you can. Dates in June, July and August fill up fastest, especially for the larger tent sizes.
Should we choose round or rectangular tables?
Round tables ($15) are best for guest dining and conversation. Six-foot rectangular tables ($10) work well for the head table, buffet, gift table and family-style seating. Most weddings use both.
Can you set up the day before the wedding?
Yes, if your venue allows equipment to be left overnight. A day-before setup gives your decorator and caterer time to work without rushing.
