How to Choose a Party Rental Company in Toronto: 10 Questions to Ask

Quick answer: To choose a good party rental company in Toronto, ask about the real delivery and setup costs, the minimum order, the deposit, what happens if it rains, what the damage waiver covers and whether you pay for items you do not use. A reliable company gives clear answers, has a real local address and shows its prices upfront. Below are the 10 questions we think every customer should ask, with our own answers so you can compare.

Most party rental problems do not come from the tent or the chairs. They come from surprises: a delivery fee nobody mentioned, a crew that shows up two hours late, or a damage charge after the event. Asking the right questions before you book takes ten minutes and saves a lot of stress on the day.

10 Questions to Ask a Party Rental Company

1. Where are you located?

A company with a real yard or storefront can deliver on time and is easier to reach if something goes wrong. Ask for the address and check it matches their Google listing.

Our answer: We are at 2229 Danforth Avenue in East York (see us on Google Maps) and have served the GTA since 2015. We are open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.

2. What does delivery, setup and pickup cost?

This is where a cheap quote turns into an expensive one. Ask for the total price with delivery, setup and pickup included, not just the rental price. Our guide to party rental delivery in Toronto shows how we price it.

Our answer: Tables and chairs ordered without a tent have a $2 per item delivery charge. With a tent order, that per-item charge does not apply. Setup is priced separately and confirmed in your quote.

3. Is there a minimum order?

Some companies will not deliver small orders at all, or charge a flat fee that makes a small order poor value.

Our answer: The minimum order for delivery is $150. Smaller orders can be picked up from our Danforth Avenue location.

4. Do you need a deposit?

Ask how much, when it is due and what happens to it if your plans change. Get the answer in writing.

Our answer: A deposit may be required to confirm your booking, especially for larger events and busy summer weekends.

5. What happens if it rains or gets windy?

Toronto weather changes fast. A good company has a plan for rain and will tell you honestly when wind makes a tent unsafe.

Our answer: Our frame tents are built for rain, and we anchor every tent to suit the ground and the forecast. If severe wind is expected, we talk with you about the safest plan before setup.

6. Do you offer a damage waiver, and what does it cover?

A damage waiver is not insurance, and every company words it differently. Ask what is covered and, more importantly, what is not.

Our answer: Our damage waiver covers accidental damage or breakage during your rental. It does not cover lost accessories like power cords, damage from misuse, theft, or linens stained with wax, food or mildew.

7. Do I pay for items I do not use?

Most companies charge for everything you reserve, because those items were held for you and still need cleaning. It is better to know this upfront.

Our answer: Yes. Rental charges apply to all reserved items, even if some go unused. That is why we help you work out the right numbers before you book.

8. Can I change my order after booking?

Guest lists move. Ask how late you can add or remove items.

Our answer: Yes. Contact us as early as possible and we will adjust your order based on availability.

9. How do you clean and check your equipment?

Ask for recent photos of the exact tent or chairs you are renting. Stained tent tops and wobbly tables are a sign the company does not keep up with maintenance.

Our answer: Every item is cleaned and checked after it comes back from an event, before it goes out again.

10. What do your recent reviews say?

Read the Google reviews from the last few months, not just the star rating. Look for comments about on-time delivery, how the crew handled problems and whether the final bill matched the quote.

Red Flags When Booking Party Rentals

  • No address, only a phone number. It is hard to hold a company to anything if you cannot find them.
  • Prices only by phone. Companies that publish their prices have nothing to hide. Ours are on our pricing page.
  • A quote that only shows the rental price. Always ask for the total with delivery and setup.
  • No written confirmation. Get your date, items, delivery window and total in writing or by email.
  • Pressure to book right now. A good company will give you time to compare.
